Paver surfaces we restore

Every paver installation around a Venice home eventually loses its edge — mildew in the joints, sunscreen etching on pool decks, sand washouts on driveways. Here's what we restore in one visit.

Pool Deck & Lanai Pavers

Pool-deck pavers take the worst punishment on the property — chlorinated splash-out, salt from a saltwater pool, sunscreen oils, and Florida UV. Unsealed pavers etch, discolor, and lose face density over time. We clean with a paver-safe pressure, spot-treat efflorescence, re-sand any washed-out joints, and apply a UV-stable sealer that locks the whole system in for 2–3 years.

  • Paver-safe cleaning that preserves joint sand
  • Efflorescence and mineral deposit spot treatment
  • Joint re-sand with polymeric sand
  • Wet-look or natural-matte sealer options

Driveway & Walkway Pavers

Driveway pavers loose oil shadows, tire marks, and irrigation rust — plus washed-out joints that let ants tunnel through. We pre-treat rust and oil, clean at paver-safe pressure, re-sand the joints, and apply a driveway-rated sealer that resists hot-tire pickup. Walkways and front-entry pavers get the same treatment at a bundled rate when done in the same visit.

  • Rust, oil, and tire-mark pre-treatment
  • Joint re-sand with polymeric sand
  • Driveway-rated sealer resists hot-tire pickup
  • Front walkway and entry bundled at reduced rate

Travertine, Marble & Natural Stone

Travertine and marble pavers around Venice pool decks are softer than concrete pavers and etch easily with the wrong cleaner or too much pressure. Fix It Once Pressure Washing uses a pH-neutral cleaning solution and a wider fan tip at reduced pressure. Sealing with a natural-stone penetrating sealer protects against sunscreen etching and pool-chemical staining without changing the natural look.

  • pH-neutral cleaner safe for travertine and marble
  • Reduced pressure preserves the stone face
  • Penetrating sealer keeps natural matte finish
  • Sunscreen and pool-chemical resistance improved

Why paver work is different from concrete pressure washing

A paver installation is a jointed system — the pavers hold each other in place, and the polymeric sand between them locks the whole field together. Blast that sand out with a direct high-pressure jet and the installation loses structural integrity: pavers shift, water washes fines out from beneath, and within a year you're looking at a dip in the middle of your pool deck.

The right approach uses a paver-safe surface-cleaner pressure, wider fan tips, and joint-preserving wand technique. If joints are already sparse before we start, we treat cleaning as step one, then follow with a proper re-sand and seal a couple days later once everything is dry. That's how paver installations last 20+ years instead of 5.

Fix It Once Pressure Washing handles the whole workflow — clean, re-sand, seal — so you don't have to coordinate a cleaner and a sealer separately. Both appointments go on the calendar together, we watch the weather for the dry window, and the whole system is warrantied through Fix It Once.

Frequently asked

Questions Venice homeowners ask us

Straight answers — the same ones we give over the phone before a job goes on the calendar.

How much does paver cleaning cost in Venice?
Most Venice paver pool decks run $250–$450 for cleaning, plus $1.25–$2.25 per square foot if you add joint re-sand and sealer. Driveway pavers are quoted similarly. Flat phone quote based on your address and square footage.
Do I need to reseal my pavers after cleaning?
Not always — sealing is optional. Driveway pavers usually last several years between seals. Pool-deck pavers benefit most because sealer locks out chlorinated water, salt residue, and sunscreen oils that etch unsealed pavers over time.
Will cleaning strip the sand from my paver joints?
Not the way we do it — we use a paver-safe surface-cleaner pressure and a wider fan tip, and angle the wand away from joints. If your joints already look sparse before we clean, we recommend a re-sand and seal as a follow-up service after the pavers fully dry (typically 48 hours).
What kind of sealer do you use?
A water-based penetrating paver sealer for a natural matte finish, or a solvent-based film-forming sealer for a wet-look shine — customer's choice. Both are UV-stable and rated for Florida sun. Reapplication typically every 2–3 years on pool decks, 3–5 years on driveways.
How long after cleaning until I can seal?
Pavers need to be completely dry — typically 48–72 hours after the wash. We schedule the seal appointment when we book the clean so it's on the calendar and you don't lose the window if rain moves in.
What does a handyman in Venice, FL typically charge?
Our standard small-job rate is a flat $145 first hour (includes drive and basic materials) and $95 per hour after, materials at cost. Most punch-list visits — a sticking door, a wobbly fan, a leaky hose bib, a wall patch, a new mailbox — finish under two hours. We quote flat-rate on anything larger before we start.
What kinds of handyman jobs do you do in one visit?
Drywall patching, door alignment, hinge and lock fixes, ceiling fan and light fixture swaps, toilet and faucet replacement, picture and TV mounting, weatherstrip and caulking, hose bib replacement, mailbox installs, screen panel swaps, exterior touch-up paint, and gutter cleaning. The trick to saving money is bundling several into one trip.
What jobs do you NOT take as a handyman?
We don't do whole-house re-pipes, panel upgrades, new electrical circuits, structural framing, roofing, HVAC, or sewer work — those require Florida-licensed trades and we refer them out. We focus on the repair-and-replace work licensed contractors don't want to drive out for.
Do you serve my Venice, Sarasota, or North Port neighborhood?
Almost certainly yes. We cover Venice Island, South Venice, Jacaranda, Nokomis, Osprey, North Port (all zips), Wellen Park, Englewood, Rotonda West, Sarasota south of Bee Ridge, Palmer Ranch, Gulf Gate, Siesta Key, Lakewood Ranch, and the Lakewood Ranch villages. Call and we'll confirm same-day.
How fast can you start a job in Venice?
Most Venice and South Venice jobs go on the calendar same-day or next-day. Sarasota and Englewood typically schedule within 48 hours. If it's an emergency — active leak, broken exterior door, storm damage — call directly and we'll try to fit you in the same day.
Do you give estimates over the phone or do I need to schedule a visit?
For most repairs we give an honest ballpark over the phone in under five minutes — you describe what's going on and we tell you a price range based on what we typically see. For larger projects (full repaints, multiple-room work, deck rebuilds) we'll come out and walk it with you. Phone estimates are always free; on-site estimates are free for projects we end up booking.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes — fully insured for residential and HOA work across Sarasota County. Florida doesn't require a handyman license for repair work under specific thresholds, but we carry general liability and we're happy to send our certificate of insurance to your HOA or condo board before we start.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Cash, check, Zelle, Venmo, and all major credit cards. No deposit required on small jobs — we invoice when the work is done and you're happy with it. Larger projects with material purchases may require a materials deposit, which we'll discuss up front.
Do you stand behind your work?
Every repair comes with a one-year workmanship warranty. If something we fixed comes back within twelve months, we come back and make it right — no callback fee, no excuses. That's the whole reason we're called Fix It Once.
Can I bundle multiple small fixes into one visit?
Yes — and you should. Most of our Venice customers save a trip charge by stacking a punch list: a sticking door, a wobbly fan, a leaky hose bib, a wall patch, a new mailbox. One trip, one invoice, the whole list done.
